Dissapointing Show By The CM XI...........!

The Chief Minister XI was dismissed for a disappointing 90 runs on the first day of the 3 day match against Chairman PCB XI played at the Qaddafi Stadium to select the team for the tour of S.Africa.

Chief Minister XI winning the toss and opting to bat first always looked in trouble losing both openers for ducks.

Only 4 batsmen managed to reach double figures with Sohaib Maqsood top scoring with 29. Faisal Iqbal was the other notable contributor with 20.

Zulfiqar Baber was the pick of the Chairman PCB XI bowlers, taking six wickets with some accurate bowling.

Ehsan Adil took 2 wickets.

Mesut Ozil: Arsenal Midfielder Has Fans Daring To Dream Again..........!

Arsene Wenger has often been accused of allowing his team to go in search of the near-perfect goal at the expense of the game's practicalities. The manager's punch of the night air and beaming smile, the years seeming to fall away, suggested this was a thing of beauty that would keep him warm when he eventually walks away.

The Frenchman likes the finer things in football. Ozil and the goal he scored fall into that category.

Arsenal's fans rose with Wenger to acclaim the German midfield man whose arrivalhas elevated the spirits of a club that was in danger of crisis to the point where they can start daring to dream.

Not about winning the Champions League, even though this 2-0 win over Napoli puts them in command of their group. Not about winning the Premier League, even though they head the table.

It is too early for that - but what a different club Arsenal is and what a different place the Emirates is from the seething mass of frustration it has become in eight trophyless years.

And so much of this sense of wellbeing can be apportioned, on so many levels, to the slender figure of Ozil.

As another under-achieving season drew to a close, Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis took arms against those who questioned the club's ambition, who claimed they were happier with money in the bank rather than on the pitch in the form of world-class players.

He has lifted every aspect of Arsenal Football Club. He has made them and their supporters feel like they really belong in elevated company once more.

Arsenal's decision to pay a club-record £42m to Real Madrid for Ozil was the game-changer with fans who questioned their desire to pay serious money. The spin-offs do not simply come from sales of the personalised Ozil shirts that poured out of Holloway Road station on Tuesday.

His presence has lifted the confidence of his team-mates, revelling in having him among them. They are glad to be around him. He even appears to have given Wenger a more youthful appearance.

The opening goal was elegance and power combined to perfection. Seven minutes later it was subtlety as once again Napoli's left side was exposed, a deft flick of Ozil's left foot setting up Giroud.

Tennis Star Novak Djokovic Announces Engagement To Girlfriend.............!

Novak Djokovic, the world`s top-ranked tennis player, announced via social media on Wednesday that he was engaged to marry his longtime girlfriend, Jelena Ristic.

"Meet my fiance (sic) and future wife," Djokovic, 26, said in a tweet that linked to a photo of the Serbian-born tennis star being kissed by his fiancee, also a Serb. "So happy! Thank you for the wonderful wishes #NoleFam and friends!"

Ristic is well-known to tennis fans as a fashionable and enthusiastic presence at Djokovic`s matches and is director of his charitable foundation.

Djokovic became a top-10 player on the ATP tour in 2007 but was overshadowed for several years by Roger Federer, the so-called Swiss Maestro, considered by many to be the greatest tennis player of all time, and Spaniard Rafael Nadal.

But in 2011 Djokovic surged past both men to claim the number 1 ranking by putting together one of the best seasons in the sport`s modern era, winning the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the U.S. Open and losing only six matches.

Though Federer briefly reclaimed the No. 1 spot after winning Wimbledon in 2012, Djokovic has held it for most of the past two years.

Earlier this month he lost to Nadal in the finals of the US Open.

Djokovic, who credits his rise to the top of his sport in part thanks to a gluten-free diet, in August released an autobiographical book about his nutrition and training regime, titled "Serve to Win."

PCB Must Pay Test Players More Money: Saeed Ajmal............!

The Pakistan Cricket Board must start paying its players more money for Test appearances, according to top spinner Saeed Ajmal.

Ajmal told a television channel that Pakistan cricketers were getting less money than their international counterparts.

"Players now want to just play one-day internationals and Twenty20 matches because they are earning more from these formats," he said.

"We don`t get the same financial rewards for playing Tests.”

"The problem is that in our country there is little difference in the fees paid out for all three formats and we are not playing as many Tests compared to most other countries.”

"I have played just 28 Tests in six years so the opportunities to earn well from this format are less compared to ODIs or T20s," added Ajmal.

Pakistan play fewer Tests than most because the other teams do not want to tour the country due to security concerns.

"I would advise our board to not only raise Test match fees ... but also create a big difference in the fees paid for all three formats," said Ajmal, 35, who has taken 147 wickets in 28 Tests and 146 wickets in 92 ODIs.

"Test cricket should form the basis for our doing well in the other formats. Unless we excel in the longer form we will face a crisis.”

"There is too much Twenty20 cricket and that is hurting Test cricket."

Pakistan host a two-Test series against South Africa in the Middle East later this month. The first game in Abu Dhabi starts on October 14.

Chennai Super Kings Favourites To Lift Champions League T20 Title.............!

The state that houses this cricket stadium is known among cricket aficionados as the home to Indian cricket team`s captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. On Saturday at JSCA, Dhoni was captaining another cricket team that has become synonymous with his name. In fact, that team of his has played all its league matches of Champions League T20 there only. It was the penultimate delivery of the 16th over of Chennai Super Kings` innings as they looked to chase a gettable 138-run target set by Australian side Brisbane Heats. On strike was Dhoni and as has become a norm these days, Mahi delighted his fans by hitting the winning runs with a flourish by launching Ben Cutting for a six over long-off boundary. It was not just another signature move from a man who has been making waves with his new haircut of late but a statement of intent that his side remains oblivious to the off field developments that have kept his IPL side in the news for wrong reasons.

While the performances of their slow bowlers have improved, the pacers have been a bit wasteful. If they can iron out this one last remaining flaw, the trophy looks all set to adore Dhoni`s brimming cabinet of silverwares.

Dortmund Back On Track After Marseille Win 3-0 ......................!

Dortmund: Last season`s beaten finalists Borussia Dortmund got their Champions League campaign back on track with a convincing 3-0 home win over Olympique Marseille on Tuesday.

Having thrashed Freiburg 5-0 at home on Saturday, Dortmund picked up where they left off in the Bundesliga with Poland striker Robert Lewandowski and Germany winger Marco Reus again claiming the goals.

Having lost home and away to Marseille in their botched Champions League campaign two years ago, Dortmund gained some revenge at the Westfalenstadion to go second in Group F behind leaders Arsenal.
